Recent US studies has shown that around 70% of the people do not get the proper rest they need every night. It is thought that this is one of the primary reasons for the significant increases people are suffering poor health, depression and so on it may also be in part to blame for the almost epedemic increase of obesity in Americans of all ages.
Getting a good nights rest will help you keep your health in good condition. When you lack proper rest, it affects your concentration and your ability to think clearly. To stay healthly you need proper rest, the right amount of the rights sorts of food and at least some exercise daily.
As a person ages the body goes through what is know as senescence, or changes that until middle age have been happening but have largely passed unnoticed.
As the body enters the later half of it’s life it starts to function less effectively and some parts even wear out completely . This is one of many reason we may start to suffer, sleep disorders, including insomnia, sleep apnea and in some cases associated breathing problems.
What you should know:
According to philosophers, theorists, experts, and who is to argue with such an exteemed bunch women are likely to experience insomnia more so than men.
While many men and women find it difficult to fall asleep, they do eventually get to sleep albeit after some tossing and turning for a short while but for some people the problem is more severe and they suffer insomnia, which is far harder on our health and can mean you only get maybe a couple of hours sleep a night.
The problem is sleeping when your body should be awake can seriously hamper your attention, damage your memory and may lead to problems like falling asleep while driving.
One thing which is not widely known is that having too much sleep can also be detrimental to your health and can lead to hypertension and high blood pressure. So getting the right balance is crucial to keep yourself in peak condition for as long as possible.
Another sleeping disorder is sleep apnea which can be quite hard for your doctor to diagnose as it only occurs when sleeping some doctors who suspect patients may have sleep apnea may send them to a sleep clinic but usually it will be a parter who recognises the problem first.
Sleep apnea causes the person to wake up all through the night gasping for air which can be very alarming for both patient and the partner. If your partner tells you that you appear to be suffering from this serious sleeping disorder make sure you get it checked out by your doctor as in rare cases this gasping for air can result in death and may more often be detrimental to your health.
What happens when you have a sleeping disorder
Sleeping disorders, over a period of tine can effect your energy levels and even harm your internal organs as the body needs to rest .
It is thought people who work shifts or have a lot of interupted sleep are more vulnerable to illness and long term health problems. You may experience joint and muscle pain, especially at the legs, or you may snore at night keeping your partner awake. These sort of factors can lead to high risks of illnesses, depression, etc.
To avoid such complications you will need to reduce stress and perhaps seek help for your sleep disorder from your doctor rather than just ignoring it as most people do.
What should I avoid?
When you find it difficult to sleep, try staying away from caffeine after 7 p.m. Avoid nicotine and alcohol also before going to sleep. If you find it difficult to drift into sleep, try counting sheep or anything else (this is to concentrate your mind on a boring repatition you slowly drift asleep)
Some people can fall asleep watching television or listening to music as it slowly lulls you asleep.I don’t suggest you watch an action movie or listen to thrash metal as that will most likely have the opposite effect.
You also should probably avoid eating or any exercise before heading to bed as well. Exercise will boost metabolism and increase adrenalin levels. Eating may cause indigestion and keep you awake.
Handy Sleep Tips:
If you find it difficult to sleep at night, try adjusting the room temperature, especially if you feel uncomfortable. Turn out the lights so that the room is dark, unless you need a night light due to consistent waking at night due to restroom visits.
If you are afraid of the dark, keep in mind that burglars can easily trip in dark areas verses lighted areas. This gives you the advantage of calling for help, since you are aware that someone is in your home.
In conclusion if you find problems with sleeping you are causing your body to age to fast seek medical advice and if necessary taking action to ensure a sound nights sleep.

HGH (Human Growth Hormone) is a hot topic and has been for quite some while now as more and more people are looking for ways to retain or reclaim their youth.
There are numerous products on the market now that are catering to people who have read about the advantages that HGH or if you prefer human growth hormone can give them in their anti aging quest.
So what is HGH?
It stands for human growth hormone and is the hormone that is produced by the pituitary gland in the brain. This is the gland that is also responsible for the production of estrogen and testosterone. In case you wondered or weren’t scientifically minded estrogen (encourgages female growth) and testosterone (male growth) get it wrong and it could be bad news!
HGH is important for healthy cell growth and for muscle building and bone development.
HGH, along with the liver and other tissues in the body stimulates the production of IGF-I which stands for insulin-like growth factor I.
The right levels of HGH in the body help childhood development to continue. If this doesn’t happen which is the case with some children (often those born premature are more susceptible) the doctors will on occasions prescribe HGH supplements to make up for the deficit and promote growth.
Human Growth Hormone has also been abused by body builders and other seeking to have a extra bulk of muscle which would be more than would develop via normal exercise.
After the age of 30 or so the production of reaches a peak and the ability for the body to maintain the same levels of healthy cell growth diminishes from then on.
Once the supply of naturally occuring human growth hormone slows and eventually stops it can affect many areas of the body’s development and as a result the aging process is accelerated.
You’ll notice hair loss becomes more prevalent and nails and bones become more brittle and often will break if not cut. In addition as you progress through middle age towards old age your skin begins to become thinner and loses its elasticity which causes it to become loose and less supple.
Additionally your muscle mass is harder to maintain and begins to decrease and along with the reduction in muscle mass there is a tendency to store more fat so even if you don’t eat any more you may still find you start to gain weight. This is sometimes refered to as ‘middle age spread’.
These are all areas of aging that we want to stop or at very least slow down in some way and the more we can lessen the effect that this natural drop in Human Growth Hormone production the longer the body will retain it’s youth.
I am sure it will come as no suprise to find out that people have looked towards Human Growth Hormone therapy as a way to reduce the symptoms that are inevitable as we start to age.
The general procedure is for HGH to be injected under the skin this should be done by experienced practitioners and not taken lightly. Another option is to take HGH releasers that help the body to produce more of its own HGH by combining with naturally occuring and manufactured amino acids and vitamins.
Many people now market natural products that are available at reasonable rates that are designed to assist the body in creating more of its own HGH but I can’t say that they all work.
However one method which has show very promising results in turning back the clock is the use of Rejuvanol see for yourself what scientist and patients alike have to say.

Using exercise equipment is a great way of getting and staying fit. The equipment can come in many forms and at many different prices.
Today we will look at a number of different types of fitness equipment available that can be used just as successfully at home as in the gym. There are many types of exercise equipment that could fall into this category but taking into account the amount of space available in the average home and the amount of money the average person has available for exercise equipment we will focus on just four main ones for now.
Treadmills
Of all the exercise equipment a person can buy for use at home the treadmill is one of the most popular of all. As you will soon discover there are a number of different types of treadmill a person can buy. For those on a limited budget they can choose a very basic type of treadmill.
Whilst those with a little bit more cash to spare can go for one that can actually be connected up to their PC. It is however important that which ever machine a person chooses it is one that it well constructed and is solidly built. Look for one that has a wide belt which when set at an incline position will still be comfortable and easy to both walk and run on.
Another major feature that your treadmill should have and which most now come with is a safety cut off mechanism. This mechanism usually consists of a key with a rope attached to it. The key then slots into the machine and if at any time it becomes removed the treadmill will stop automatically preventing any kind of damage or injury to the person using it.
The Elliptical Trainer
Of all the pieces of fitness equipment we are looking at in this article the elliptical trainer provides not just a comfortable way to exercise but also does not place as much pressure on the bones in their body. The other big benefit to be gained from using this piece of exercise equipment over say a treadmill is it is very easy to understand and use so even some one who is a complete novice will have no difficulty using it.
All the elliptical trainers you can now purchase for the home are designed to allow you to increase the intensity of the workouts you do on them so this means as you get fitter you won’t be prevented for increasing how much resistance is being placed on your muscles as you work them.
Stationary Exercise Bikes
For those of you who are actually looking for a more comfortable way to exercise then this piece of equipment may be just what you are looking for. Not only does it take up very little space but it allows you to do your exercise in a comfortable and relaxing way. This particular piece of fitness equipment is ideal for those who are only just starting to get back into exercising and getting healthy.
The final piece of exercise equipment we are now going to take a look at is one which can get a person in to shape and is great for using in the comfort of your own home.
An Exercise Ball

Although there are numerous causes of having a heart attacks, which tends to be rather detrimental to long life whilst some are just unavoidable the biggest majority are directly attributable to life style so if you want to make sure you have a heart attack just keep doing the things below!
1. Smoking. Simply put, smoking is a killer for your cardiovascular system, especially your heart. Smoking can clog your arteries and increase your blood pressure in the process. You can double your heart attack risk this way, compared to people who do not smoke. So my friends is time to get those patches and quit.
2. Drink too much booze. One drink a day, amounting to around twelve ounces of beer, five of wine or 1.5 of hard liquor can actually have a protective effect on your heart, but anything more, or less is simply not effective. In fact, if you drink too much, you can be putting your heart in serious risk because alcohol can raise your blood pressure and have other negative effects on your body. So it’s like the good books all say everything is OK in moderation.
3. Siting on your Butt. If you have a sit on your butt lifestyle, you will not reduce stress, you will not decrease your cholesterol levels, and you will end up over weight and possibly experience heart and breathing problems . This will all lead to heart attack so if you don’t want to end up like that just take a 30 minute walk every day.
4. Getting angry at upset at everything . Believe it or not, simply getting angry can raise your chance of having a heart attack, making it just as dangerous as more obvious health related causes. If you frequently get angry for long periods of time, the resulting rise in blood pressure can lead to a heart attack.Just chill out life’s to short or your’s will be if you don’t relax. This might help Reduce Stress
5. Letting your cholesterol go up unchecked. Eating plenty of saturated fats, especially trans saturated fats, consuming too many calories, and eating foods that are not rich in nutrients can cause your cholesterol to go up, which can make you much more likely to have a heart attack over time as your poor arteries clog up.
6. Get stressed out. Stress is a huge factor that leads to heart disease, so getting stressed out regularly and for long periods can raise your blood pressure, and lead to heart disease and heart attacks. Try this Eliminate Stress
7. Lose control of your blood pressure. If your blood pressure gets to be too high, your heart will have to work a lot harder to push blood through, which can cause it to enlarge, which can lead to a serious risk for heart attack later on.
8. Don’t take your health serious enough. Simply not spending enough time worrying about your health and wellness can contribute heavily to whether or not you develop heart attack symptoms. It is important that you regularly assess your health and that you pay attention to making healthy choices on a daily basis in order to keep your heart healthy.
9. Over exert yourself. Blood pressure rises when your stress level rises due to over exertion. This may lead to a serious heart attack. Avoid over exerting yourself, especially if you already have other risk factors for heart attacks.
There you are if you need a reason as to why you could be heading for a heart attack here are 9 good ones so don’t shorten your life make the right lifestyle choices and live longer.

By now, almost everyone who uses health and dietary supplements will have heard of Green Tea; it has excellent antioxidant properties, widely used by drug and health product manufacturers.
Green tea weight loss extracts can be consumed in many ways including as regular tea plus it can be purchased in liquid or tablet form but whichever way it is used it has an excellent record as a calorie burner.
When used for extended periods it helps to re-generate human body cells and as a consequence actually slows down the normal aging process.
However, weight loss treatments using it rely on the laxative and toxin purging qualities of the plant that speed up the metabolism.
The product increases the metabolic rate and the number of calories burnt so less fatty tissue forms. The wonders of green tea weight loss health products will not work alone and require the commitment of the user to exercise and eat healthily.
Improvement to general eating habits is necessary because the intention to lose weight implies the dieter wants a much healthier lifestyle.
For the best results when using green tea as a hot drink; you are advised to use it prior sleep when the metabolism is slowing down. It is possible that during the first two or three days, you may experience some bowel discomfort, but that is very likely to pass soon.
Newer users of green tea weight loss products are more likely to see this effect as their body becomes used to the way it increases the metabolic rate ridding it of the toxins and burning calories that normally turn into fat. It doesn’t take long to see the results and if you follow your diet correctly; i.e. increasing your liquid intake, regular exercise and eating fruit and vegetables then expect to see good results within your first week.
Sometimes you will find ginseng is mixed with green tea to improve its properties and effectiveness. Considered to be the root of life in China and Tibet, ginseng root brings the vitamin and mineral supplement the body needs during a detoxification period.
Ginseng is also beneficial for the immune system and when used in combination with green tea, helps to improve the energy level of a person who is losing weight so they do not feel so lethargic. Neither green tea nor ginseng root have any kind of side effects, and can be administered successfully in long-term diets for as long as six months.

Aging or getting older is something we all will face someday in our lives. As we age our bodies starts to work less effectively. As the body declines, noticable aging signs appear including wrinkles, crows feet, weight gain, weight loss, cellulite, other visible effects. To reduce the aging signs we must take action to maintain our health as it was when we were younger.
Things to avoid: Don’t go to bed immediately after exercise. Exercise will get you all pumped up and your heart rate will increase and you’ll boost your metabolism. But then you will find it hard to get to sleep afterwards. Most forms of exercise work best done in the morning, since it boosts your metabolism and starts you off with spring in your step. When you get up why not do some form of exercise before you continue your daily routine. But if your schedule won’t allow this maybe you have to get to work or something try and find time to fit some exercise in later during the day.
Don’t be tempted to over do things. Keep realistic about your capabilities. Make sure you listen to what your body is telling you is enough don’t continue if it starts to be painful. There is nothing wrong with exercise in the evening just make sure you don’t go to bed too soon afterwards or you will find it hard to get to sleep.
Can’t sleep and don’t know why? Snoring or another sleeping disorders such as sleep apnea can stop you having a good nights sleep. Many sleep problems are related to being overweight speak to your doctor for advice if you have problems with sleeping.
Loosing weight by exercising can give you the activity you need as well it may help your sleeping help you with losing weight and strengthen your bones. Your might have a partner that snore as well, which keeps you both awake at night. If your partner snores ask him/her to visit, the doctor to find out if a medical condition exists.
Additionally being depressed or feeling stressed can keep you awake at night. One good way to relax is yoga and meditation. This will help you chill out more easily. Suprisingly for some yoga can be very effective against stress and depression. Other methods include aromatherapy, hypnosis and even just listening to relaxing music.
If you don’t seem to be having any luck with whatever you try and your still waking up in the morning feeling like you haven’t had any sleep forever consult you physician. Talk to your doctor to see if he has any ideas that can help you live a healthier life. You doctor may suggest or precribe a sleeping remedy that allows you to sleep peacefully.
Healthy eating: Healthy eating is another good method to ensure you live a healthy aging life. When you eat the right food groups daily, you are able to maintain your body by providing it with, minerals, vitamins and other essential nutrients it needs to live healthy. Giving thought to healthy aging doesn’t feature high on your list of priorities during your working life. As a young man or woman you’ll look for the best paid work , however at some stage in the future you might regret that choice.
Aging is pretty low on the agenda when you are in your younger years. Chasing the money is the only thing on our minds and sometimes that isn’t ideal. Sometimes we have little choice and take what is available to provide for ourselves and family but at the same time, we could be putting ourselves at risk later in life.
All to many people have to work in places which would not be seen as healthy. But the need to survive today forces many in to work that involves chemicals, dust and toxic smoke.
Lets take for example working in a wood shop making household and office furniture. This is detrimental to the lungs and can possibily result in lung disease. Some machines in a wood shop operate using toxic glues and adhesives which produce unpleasant and even noxious vapours. The long term exposure to these sorts of hazards can cause respiratory dieases and other respiratory related illness.
More obviously unhealthy is a coal mine. Coal miners face daily risk to their health and a reduced life expectancy. Dust from coal and the damp conditions of a coal mine can lead to very serious lung problems such as pneumoconiosis or black lung disease. Many men who work down mines have suffered the effects of working down the mine and few make it to a very old age.
A major employee in some American States is the saw milling industry. It is also unfortunately a job which has a higher than average expectancy of ill health associated with it. It can hardly be suprising when you consider the conditions these workers must endure. They work in extreme cold and are always at risk of accidents in the work place. Serious injuries are still quite common. Whilst a young healthy worker in their 20-30’s may recover to full health those with more mature bones would likely be forced out of work as older bones repair much slower and break more easily.
Fishermen working in the fishing industry are exposed to extreme danger and risk to their health as well. Maturing years does not prevent these hardened men venturing out in all weathers often risking their lives in high seas and dangerous waters. A fishermans work is physically punishing and dangerous, accidents and injuries are quite common. Back injury is especially common amongst older fisherman. Looking on the bright side despite their daily peril they do get plenty of fresh air.
Truck drivers have a potentially dangerous job being out on the road all the time with often a punishing schedule to meet in order to get paid well. Truckers will often drive for many hours with little sleep often endangering themselves and others.
Those more mature truckers still on the road well into their sixties are at even greater risk to their health, usually living with a unhealthy lifestyle for years can start to quickly effect an aging body. They often have bad backs, poor general health and the combination of life style and often poor diet make them prime candidates for heart attacks.
When the body starts getting older it needs more care and consideration to perform at the same level as before. Many older workers find this difficult as what once was a job they could do easily in their youth becomes much harder as old age sets in.
We may live to regret the way we treated our bodies when we were younger to earn and extra dollar but for sure we are likley to pay for this neglect later on down the track. Our bodies and minds need a combination of healthy diet and safe place to work, enough exercise and minmal stress to flourish and the sooner we pay attention to these in our life the better or chances of healthy aging.
Consider your work place now and how it affecting your life now and how it will affect it in the future so that you can live a healthy aging life.

Melatonin the natural sleep remedy is given a rough ride by the multi million dollar big pharmaceutical companies in attempts to put down it’s effectiveness. This should not really amaze any one when you consider that Melatonin is freely available and affordable to most bad sleep sufferers which makes it a serious rival to the likes of Ambien and Lunesta. But Melatonin is up for the fight.
But Melatonin it now seems does more than just help you sleep. This natural hormone has recognized anti-aging benefits that help you look and feel younger. And in addition Melatonin can it is claimed protect your bodies cells against diseases like cancer and Alzheimer’s. It also stimulates the natural release of human growth hormone (HGH), one of the key hormones of youthfullness.
Melatonin has incredible effectiveness as a powerful antioxidant. This has the effect of keeping diseases at bay by destroying free radicals. However it has one more significant effect that other antioxidants don’t, it stimulates the creation of futher anti oxidant enzymes protecting the body from a whole range of illnesses.
For anti-aging benefits, take just 0.5 mg of melatonin a day. To help you sleep, take between 1.5 mg and 2 mg before going to bed. If you have a chronic disease, like cancer, a stronger dose of 20 mg to 40 mg before bed is recommended.
Don’t be tempted to take the higher dosage without discussing it with your doctor as it may not be effective. In addition if you are intending to use melatonin as a sleep aid get up at least 1-2 hours before driving as your reactions may be slightly impaired.Women who are pregnant or nursing should avoid the use of all hormones and supplements without a doctor’s supervision.

Im guessing you could have heard about Resveratrol probably in connection with the drinking of red wine to improve your health. What you might not know is Resveratrol is an extremely powerful antioxidant found in plants which is being claimed to slow down or even reverse the signs of aging. One study has demonstrated that Resveratrol can extend the life of mice by as much as 30 percent which would be around 35-40 if applied to the average human lifespan.
I have carried out extensive research and found that Resveratrol is almost certainly the most powerful and effective anti aging supplement available. Advocates of CoQ10 may dispute the versatility claims and only only time will tell as research continues.
The most recent published studies by the Intitute of Genetics, Molecular and Cellular Biology have demonstrated that resveratrol gave mice extra energy to be able to run twice their usual distance. It was almost as if their energy cells were boosted their muscle were energized, their heart rates dropped and their endurance almost unexplicably increased as if they had been training for some while.
A French study carried out by Professor Johan Auwerx a certified clinical specialist in Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrition chief researcher and professor at the Medical Faculty of the University Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg stated ” Resveratrol makes you perform like a trained athlete without any of the work.” . Other studies in Finland also indicate that resveratrol will be just effective on humans as it is mice.
Almost by accident it was also discovered that those mice which were given resveratrol did not contract diabetes and suffer from obesity as it appeared to protect them from gaining weight and illness associated with such problems
Other benefits included a heightened sensitivity to insulin (a sensitivity which declines with age). When you reverse this decline in insulin sensitivity, you have not only reduced the effects of aging, you’ve also helped maintain your ideal weight and avoid diabetes.
Apart from resveratrol being found in red wine (or rather more accurately the process which produces red wine). Resveratrol is also present in a number of plants of high quantities these include blueberries, cranberries, bilberries and red grapes and perhaps more suprisingly peanuts. I have found that Resveratrol is easier to take in supplement form the best source of which I have found to be Rejuvanol from First Health. They provide the ideal dose of 150mg of Resveratrol a day.
